From Post to Practice: Storytelling through eSeLschwarm

From Post to Practice is an exhibition exploring how eSeLschwarm, a collaborative online platform, uses storytelling as an artistic and social practice to engage with Vienna’s art and culture. It centers the voices of BIPoC, queer, feminist, and alternative Off-Space communities, highlighting how underrepresented perspectives are documented, amplified, and transformed through the platform.

Each contributor selects a piece they have created for eSeLschwarm—whether a program recommendation, critical reflection, or thematic exploration—and develops it into an original work of art. The exhibition provides insight into the curatorial and creative processes behind cultural documentation, while revealing the personal and political concerns shaping the contributors’ work.

Through text, image, and reflection, From Post to Practice creates space for stories often overlooked, emphasizing the importance of visibility and storytelling in shaping cultural narratives. It also invites audiences to consider how platforms can support marginalized voices and how documentation can evolve into action.
